Reading a book, was far more common 10 years back.
no podcasts, no audiobooks, no book summaries, just a paperback.
that experience is truly like peeping into the author’s brain.
and it’s unmatched.
there is no way anyone can convince me that Lord of the Rings (movies) are better than the book.
reading triggers our imagination.
it forces us to engage with the material.
forces us to think deeply about what’s being said.
read Nassim Taleb’s work (3 books)
there is no comparable video / audio content that even comes close.
how about Fountainhead? nope (the movie sucks)
and let’s not even talk about Atlas Shrugged.
Harry Potter —> me falling in love with reading.
and no alt content can replace the world JK Rowling helps you create inside your head with her words alone.
real world exercise:
pick up a paperback.
leave your phone aside, recuse yourself to a room on a weekend, and just read. keep reading.
you will come out happier.
fin.
